Over the past several months the Armed Forces have been undergoing a full refit. As part of this project the Navy is being modernised. As a result of discussions the Naval command has decided to retire all month class helicopter carriers by June 2013.
DS Valkyrie Found
The main wreck of the DS valkyrie has been found and is due to be raised on the 20th October 2011. We believe that she was attacked while radar was down by a rogue nation. If this is confirmed we will be declaring war against any nation found guilty.
DSA Confirms cancellation of shuttle launch
The shuttle launch this week was cancelled due to safety concerns with the main launch vehicle. A review is now in place to consider safety concerns.
Carrier Confirmed Sunk.
Today the Destroyer DS Answer has confirmed that the wreckage found originates from the carrier DS Valkyrie. Our submarines are nor using sonar to search for the wreck underwater.
Missing Carrier Update
Today the helicopter carrier DS June spotted wreckage which seems to have originated from the DS Valkyrie. The Fleet which is searching for the ship is now beginning a sweep of this area
Davishire Navy Aircraft Carrier Missing.
The DS Valkyrie has recently gone missing during a storm. We have lost contact with the ship after it was split from its escort during severe fog at night. We are unsure whether comms are down or whether it has sunk.
DSA Announces New Launch Date
The next launch of the DSA Shuttle will be on the 1st October 2011. More details to be announced.

Next Shuttle Mission Cancelled due to Budget Constraints
Next Shuttle Mission Planned
The DSA has planned the next shuttle mission to the Davishire Space Station. They are planning to place a new libing area so that astronoughts can stay in space for up to 3 months. The date of the launch is planned for the 10th august to allow for the finishing of the making of the new componant. The crew will be decided by the 1st July 2011.

Return to Earth
The return to earth of the Davishire Space Agencies first astronoughts has been set to 20th May. Nearly 1 .5 Months after they left earth. The crew flew the Davishire space station into low earth orbit and we now have a permanant platorm in which we can send astronoughts to. This platform also carries our space defenses. The DSA is currently designing a ship which can take a crew to the moon by the end of 2015.-

Future of the Navy
This week the Government of Davishire declared that although Military Spending has hit an all time high of 40% GDP less money will be given to the NAVY. Admiral N.Donnovon said " Recently in the face of naval budget cuts we will of course loose some of our older suraface ships. DS March the Helicopter Carrier which was due to be refit will now be scrapped along side 2 of the planet class destroyers and one of our newest destroyers. Our navy is already small compared to others however in the future we will build new ships and we will be the worlds largest naval power once more!"
Double Dip Reccession
The Cabinet has sad new to report that we have entered a double dip reccession. Our economy is still falling and our economic class has gone from thriving to VERY STRONG. The President General Stenbren has relieved the chancellor of the exchequer from his duties and has appointed Alfred Flick as his successor, he will begin his duties as of 12:00 BST on Wednesday 13th April 2011. -n Government Spokesperson

Continue is Economic Downturn
The government of davishire confirms that the economic situation has worsened. It was believed earlier this week that the economy would bounce back however this did not happen. We do however believe that the increase in the Public Sector will help the economy recover however if we encourage too much public sector growth then we will be leaving our values as a right wing capitalist country. Daylight Saving Time
From 01:00 GMT on sunday 27th March Davishire will operate under daylight saving time BST. This means that all clocks in Davishire will operate an hour further ahead of GMT.
Economic Downturn- Press Statement
The Government of Davishire wishes confirm that we are in the middle of an economic reccession and that Davishire no longer holds an economic "powerhouse" rating. We believe that this is due to the reduction of the public sector in our country. The Minister of finance is currently working to the best of his ability with his advisors to rectify the problem. Due to the nature of our economic problem we are no longer alble to be reresented in the E-20 as we no longer have such a strong economy. -Press Spokesman
Economic Downturn
Recently our economy has dropped from 91 points to 80 points and we have also lost our powerhouse economic POWERHOUSE rating. The government is stil watching the chrisis and a further statement will be release later.
DS Oak Decommissioned and DS South america Commissioned
At 14:30 this after noon DS Oak and DS S.America lowered their davishire ensign for the last time today. They have been sold to atlanza where they will work for the coastguard.
DS Oak return to the capital for the final time
At 16:00 this afternoon the DS Oak anda have returned from DNB Barrington which is their home port to the capital city. On Sunday 13th March 2011 they are due to be retired from service before being sold to Atlanza at the end of march. They have both had brilliant tours of anti-slavery operations before returning home. The Decommisioning ceremony will be held at 12:00pm on sunday 13th March and will be viewable on Dav News 1.
DS Oak returns from final deployment before retirement.
The Tree class frigate which is due for decommissioning on March 13th has returned from an anti-narcotics patrol in the carribbean. Halfway through her 6 month tour she discovered a ship carrying £1bn sterling in cocaine. She is due to be sold to Atlanza.
DS South America
The DS South America which is due to enter service on March 13 2011 is currently undergoing sea trials. The Latest in the line of continent class frigates has the latest armour and weaponry and is ready to combat the slave and narcotics trade in our region and across the globe. The DS South America will be sent on its first deployment to the North Atlantic Slave lanes in late april.
DS EARTH CATCHES SLAVE CONVOY
Today the planet type destroyer discovered and stopped a slave convoy of 3 slave ships. Upon more detailed searches over 10,000 slaves where recovered between the 3 ships and are now en-route to a slave recovery camp on an island just off davishire. This shows that even though the Navy of Davishire despite being cut back due to cost is still a leading light on the seas and always will be. The DS Earth is currently halfway through her final 6 month deployment on anti-slave operations. She is due to be retired in early september and then sold on to Atlanza who are going to convert her into a coastguard patrol ship. Lets hope she has many more successes.
